Rain in July

Body Can you believe we had some good, beautiful rains in the middle of July of all things. Yes, it was spotty in some places but there were a lot of places that had good rains. We had a lot of rain over seven inches inches in and it is green, dirt tanks are full.

CBP Commissioner to visit Big Bend

Body Construction activity in Big Bend National Park began last week and is expected to pause as U.S. Customs and Border Protection Commissioner Rodney Scott is expected to visit the Big Bend region this week.
Heavy equipment rests silently on Sunday, August 16, after the border wall infrastructure began last week in Big Bend National Park. These machines were parked just past the turnoff to Cottonwood Campground, and the “new patrol road” essentially runs parallel to the already paved and maintained park road to Santa Elena Canyon. As of Sunday, the path runs from the parking lot at Santa Elena Canyon to this location. Photo by Kara Gerbert
