We have just celebrated Memorial Day, which is an important holiday, honoring those that died in the service for our country. It began just after the American Civil War. In many communities, there are volunteers that place flags on the graves of all who died in service to our country, and in other communities, they are placed on all the veterans’ graves.

WRTTC Dual Credit Students Honored During 2026 Pinning Ceremony

ANDRES MADRID The Midland College Williams Regional Technical Training Center (WRTTC) – Fort Stockton honored dual credit students from Fort Stockton High School and Buena Vista Independent School District during the 2026 Nurse Aide & Pharmacy Technician Pinning Ceremony held May 6 at the Fort Stockton Convention Center. The ceremony recognized students who completed Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) and Pharmacy Technician coursework while still enrolled in high school through Midland College dual credit workforce programs.

Downtown Fort Stockton is set to brighten, literally and figuratively, this weekend as the Fort Stockton Community Theatre and ChunkArts Studio join forces for a partnership that blends culinary arts, live drama, and luminous visual storytelling. Centered around the performances of a classic comedy “The Odd Couple”, the event serves as a platform for local artist Steven Walker to showcase his innovative illuminated collage works in a pop-up art show hosted at the FMH Meeting Hall.

The event, held at 301 E. 5th Street, offered attendees a safe and judgment-free environment to connect with others and learn about vital mental health resources. The gathering featured free food and drinks, and it provided a unique opportunity for residents to talk directly with caring professionals. The event saw a high level of engagement, with organizers noting it was “Sold Out” shortly after its 10 AM start.
