The Fort Stockton City Council held its regular meeting on Monday, February 24, at 5:30 p.m. The meeting covered a wide range of topics, including public hearings, resolutions, and regular business items, with a highlight of celebrating the Fort Stockton Special Olympic athletes and coaches, recognizing their achievements and contributions to the community.

81st Annual Comanche Relays

The Fort Stockton High School Panthers and Prowlers track teams kicked off their season with an electrifying performance at the 81st annual Comanche Relays on February 22. The historic meet, rich in tradition, brought together some of the region’s top athletes, with Fort Stockton athletes rising to the challenge on their home turf.

Overtime Heartbreaker

The Fort Stockton High School Panther Basketball team’s season came to a heartbreaking end on February 18 as they fell to the Pampa Harvesters in overtime, 73-69, in a thrilling playoff battle in Wolfforth, Texas. Despite the tough loss, the Panthers showed grit and determination, backed by an overwhelming crowd of Fort Stockton supporters who made the over three-hour trip to cheer on their team.

Panther Tennis Battles the Cold, Brings Home Medals

The Fort Stockton Panther Tennis team braved freezing temperatures and tough competition at the RCHS Winter Invitational in Big Lake last week, showcasing their resilience and skill on the courts. The Panthers competed in both the junior varsity and varsity divisions across two days, with multiple athletes earning top finishes.
