Pecos County election officials have released unofficial totals for Tuesday’s joint primary runoff election, revealing the winners of several closely watched local and statewide contests.

Pecos County voters have only two days remaining to cast their ballots early in the 2026 joint primary runoff election before the final vote takes place next week. Early voting, which began on Monday, is scheduled to conclude Friday evening at several locations across the county.

The quiet landscape of West Texas is preparing for a monumental transformation this June as the town of Iraan hosts the Alley Oop & Yates Field Centennial Celebration. This historic festival, scheduled for June 5th and 6th, 2026, serves as a dual tribute to the region’s industrial roots and its unique contribution to American pop culture.

The stage is set for a comedic clash of personalities as the Fort Stockton Community Theatre (FSCT) prepares to launch its latest production, Neil Simon’s timeless classic, The Odd Couple. The Fort Stockton City Council is scheduled to meet Tuesday, May 26, to deliberate on a wideranging agenda that includes significant infrastructure investments, updates to local traffic laws, and plans for municipal employee appreciation. The regular meeting will begin at 5:30 p.m. at 121 West Second Street.

Pecos County invites the local community to observe Memorial Day on Monday, May 25, 2026, for a special day of reflection, gratitude, and remembrance. The ceremony is scheduled to begin at 10:00 a.m. at Zero Stone Park in Fort Stockton.

Following the Memorial Day holiday, the Pecos County Commissioners Court is scheduled to convene for a regular session on Tuesday, May 26, 2026. The meeting will take place at 10:30 A.M.
