With love in our hearts and memories full of laughter, we celebrate the life of Karen O’Banion Jackson, who passed away on June 14, at the age of 67. Karen was born on June 11th, 1958 in Chincoteague, Virginia to Billy Bryan and Hope O’Banion.

It is with deep sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father and grandfather, Jimmy Wayne Newby (70) on June 16, at the hospital in Dallas, Texas after weeks of attempting recovery from a major heart attack.

The Pecos County Commissioners Court addressed several key items during its regular meeting Monday, including approving donations to the Imperial Public Library, authorizing equipment purchases, and moving forward with FEMA disaster recovery contracts.

A bipartisan bill to expand and preserve Big Bend National Park cleared the U.S. Senate unanimously this week, moving the proposal one step closer to becoming law.
