Prowlers put on offensive showcase in run-rule victory

Fort Stockton’s bats provided a problematic dose of power, placement, and consistency for the Kermit pitching and defense during the Prowlers homestand on Feb. 22.

Fort Stockton (6-1) tallied 21 hits with ten different batters, including a team-best four hits by freshman Mia Garcia in Fort Stockton’s 17-4 win.

Tennis: Pacheco, Gomez compete with top competition

Prowlers sophomore girls doubles duo Athena Gomez and Jaslyn Pacheco showed that no matter the level of competition, they are willing to step up to the challenge.

Fort Stockton took to the court against a number of elite programs in West Texas on Feb. 11 for the inaugural All Saints Invitational.

In a compass style draw format, at least 3 matches were guaranteed for the athletes, placing everyone from 1st-16th place.

Panther powerlifters finish second at home meet

The Fort Stockton powerlifting put on a show for their home fans at Saturday’s Fort Stockton Power Classic.

Fort Stockton coach Jeremy Boatright said the Andrew Gonzales put forth a standout performance and that senior Elijah Escajeda showed his impressive strength that was displayed on the gridiron this past fall.

Maintaining perfection: Prowlers win title at home

Three meets complete and three championships are now in hand for the Prowlers powerlifting team after a dominant performance on Saturday at the Special Events Center.

Beverly Baeza led Fort Stockton to their third consecutive title with a first-place finish in her respective weight class, lifting a total of 895 pounds.

Izabella Diaz, Gabriella Renteria, Alyssa Rangel, and Leilani Enriquez earned silver medals in separate weight classes.

Panthers eliminated from postseason contention

Fort Stockton’s playoff hopes hinged on the outcome of Friday’s matchup on the road against Monahans and much like their first meeting, the contest was tightly contested throughout. The Panthers trailed by seven points going into the final period before tying the game at 49-49 midway through the fourth quarter.

Porras, Prowler bats show out in season-opening victory

In her first official start on the mound in her career, freshman Kriselda Porras looked anything but an inexperienced underclassman in the Prowlers season-opener at Presidio on Feb. 15.

And Fort Stockton’s bats made sure she had no worries.

The Prowlers scratched out 11 hits and Porras allowed only two runs in a 15-2 victory on Tuesday.

Prowler softball scrimmages, preps for season

The Darrian Roberson era is eight days away from officially beginning for the Prowlers softball team. The first-year head coach took her non-basketball athletes, who have been practicing for three weeks, to their first scrimmage of the season on Feb.

Roberson bests former team in rematch: Panthers maintain postseason chances

Fort Stockton first-year head coach Zack Roberson categorized Tuesday’s home bout against his former Pecos Eagles as a “must-win.”

After the first quarter of play, the Panthers played liked it and kept their playoff hopes alive in a convincing come-from-behind victory to cap the team’s heated rivalry.

The Panthers trailed 18-10 after the first quarter and from that point forward, Fort Stockton outscored the Eagles 61-41 in route to a 71-59 win.
