Edward Franco, 55, beloved son and brother, was called to his eternal resting place on October 4, 2025. He was born on June 26, 1970, in Fort Stockton, Texas, to the late Natividad and Flora Franco.

Harry “Tom” Carpenter, a cherished, loyal, humorous, and family-oriented man, passed away on May 26, 2025, at the age of 91. Born on June 26, 1933, in Pecos, Texas, Tom grew up in Fort Stockton. He graduated with a bachelor’s degree in marketing from Baylor University.

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Edward Lee Esparza, born September 29, 1957. Edward was a humble and compassionate individual whose kindness touched the lives of all who knew him.

Alex Marquez, 37, beloved son, brother, uncle, and friend, entered into eternal rest on September 23. Alex was born on May 21, 1988, in Fort Stockton, to Onedimo and Hilda Marquez. Alex was known for his big heart, gentle spirit, and the love he shared so freely with everyone around him.

Manuel Alvarez Jr. of Round Rock, Texas passed away on Monday, September 2, at the age of 75.

Shelby Taylor Staten, 69, beloved Husband, Stepfather, Brother, and Son, was called to his eternal resting place on September 15, in Fort Stockton. A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m.

Paul H. Casas Jr., a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend passed away peacefully on September 18, at 68 years old. He was born to Paul Robles Casas and Irene Villalba Casas on August 31, 1958, in Fort Stockton, Texas. Paul married Estela Ibarra on June 18, 1983, and resided in Fort Stockton, Texas. Together they raised two wonderful children-Fermin John Paul and Katrina.

Maria Leticia “Letty” Murphy, 68, of Fort Stockton, Texas, passed away on September 20. Letty was born on March 9, 1957, in Fabens, Texas, and raised in Sierra Blanca.

Justo Lopez, a cherished ranch hand and beloved grandfather, peacefully left this world on September 5, 2025, at the remarkable age of 97. Born on January 22, 1928, Justo exemplified the spirit of the American West, forging a life intertwined with the land he so deeply loved.

Barbara Ann Apshire, 87, passed away peacefully at home on September 6, 2025. Barbara was born on July 24, 1938 to her parents, Lewis William and Jewell Colvin. As she grew, she surrounded by her cousins and siblings. She grew up to marry the love of her life, Gyron Pat Apshire, in 1955. She worked as a dispatcher and jailer in multiple counties while raising her two beloved daughters and helping with her many grandchildren.
