Former Fort Stockton Attorney Robert W. (Bob) Baker was recently honored by the State Bar of Texas for continuous practice of law for over 50 years. He was presented an award for Meritorious Service “to the Community, State, and Nation” from 1972 to 2022.

Corrales selected as All-State Musician

Fernando Corrales, a member of the Fort Stockton High School Band, will perform with the Texas All- State Band in San Antonio on Saturday, Feb. 11, 2023, at the Henry B. González Convention Center as part of the 2023 Texas Music Educators Association Clinic/Convention.

Bruce King Company feeds area law enforcement

Fort Stockton native Marshall King and Paloma King showed their appreciation to law enforcement on Jan. 9 by giving out meals to law enforcement entities in the area on the behalf of all the Bruce King Company family.

The Fort Stockton Police Department was one of the law enforcement entities in the area that received free meals from Marshall King and Paloma King on Jan. 9 on the behalf of the Bruce King Company and all the King family. The act of kindness has been done by the King’s for three years and one they plan to keep doing in the future. Sisters Beauty Salon celebrates 60 years

The crew at Sisters Beauty Salon was joined by family and friends, as well as Miss Fort Stockton Ysabella Sanchez, for a ribbon cutting ceremony and 60th anniversary celebration on Dec. 22 at the salon, located at 204 S. Ector Lopez honored for years of service to Pecos County

Ector Lopez was honored for his service to Pecos County at the Dec. 27 commissioner’s court meeting. Lopez started out in building and ground maintenance at the courthouse in 1986, moving on to Assistant Building Supervisor at the courthouse, Road and Bridge Skilled Worker for Precinct 4, Road and Bridge Equipment Operator for Precinct 4 and has been the Precinct 4 Road and Bridge Supervisor since 2007.
