Slow start prevents streak-ending win for Prowlers

A four-point first quarter put the Prowlers basketball team behind the 8-ball to start Tuesday’s game against Andrews, and one they could not overcome in their 44-38 loss to the Mustangs at home.
The Prowlers outscored Andrews 14-11 in the final quarter but trailed 33-24 heading into the last eight minutes of regulation after an 8-0 run by Mustangs to end the third.

Peters earns prestigious coaching award

Fort Stockton head football coach Mike Peters was named the 33Lead Athletic Club Football Coach of the Year this past week.
Peters led the Panthers to greater heights than Fort Stockton’s program had ever seen before this past season.
The athletic director for the Fort Stockton Independent School District led his team to the second round of the Class 4A-1 playoffs after the Panthers won their first contested-postseason game in school history following a co-district championship.
