Kevin Andrew Marler, loving son, brother, fiancé, and dog dad, passed away on June 5, 2021, in Fort Stockton, Texas.

Visitation will be held for Kevin from 1-8 p.m. at People Church, 108 West 10th Street in Fort Stockton on Thursday, June 10, 2021.

When a new superintendent has taken over the Fort Stockton Independent School District for the last 33 years, they have all commonly relied on one person to ease that transition. And she takes pride and joy in doing so.

Dr. Garbriel Zamora officially became the superintendent of the Fort Stockton Independent School District on May 27 at the school board’s special meeting held at the school’s administration building. Zamora is taking over the position which was held by Ralph Traynham for the past 12 years. The new superintendent has his contract approved by a unanimous vote. The Fort Stockton school board made a few big purchases at their regular meeting on May 24, including two new buses that cost over $500,000 and a new fuel station that has the potential to cost $1 million.
