Youth receive first set of vaccines in Pecos County

For the first time in Pecos County, individuals ages 12-15-years old received a Pfizer vaccine last week at a clinic held by Pecos County Memorial Hospital. PCMH held the clinic at its Specialty Clinic and administered 73 shots, 68 of which were between the ages of 12-15.

MMEX looks at solar projects

Pecos County is currently the leading the state of Texas in solar development, and more growth is expected in the near future. MMEX Resources Corp., a development-stage company focusing on the acquisition, development, and financing of oil, gas, refining, and infrastructure projects in Texas and South America, announced on May 25 that it has signed agreements to advance its first solar powered hydrogen and clean fuels with carbon capture projects, along with expansion of its site in Pecos County.

The Fort Stockton City Council met in regular session on June 8, with Mayor Pro-Tem Paul Casillas leading the meeting. The council heard presentations from the Pecos County Appraisal District, the Police Department, and others.

Aurora V. Gonzales entered rest on June 1, 2021. She was born on Dec. 6, 1959, to Margarito Gomez and Jesusita Velasquez.

Aurora was preceded in death by her parents; brothers Jose Luis Gomez, Fernando Gomez, and Reynaldo Gomez; and sister Rosario Coronado.
