Fort Stockton man charged with intoxication manslaughter

A Fort Stockton man is being charged with intoxication manslaughter after a two-car crash that killed two people on Jan. 22 according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.

Fort Stockton resident Enrique Enriquez, 39, was traveling west on FM 3472 in a Dodge Charger – just outside of Odessa City Limits – when he entered the eastbound lanes and collided head-on with another Dodge Charger at 11:50 p.m.

Gregoria "Goya" Ramos Cordero, 96, was made whole again as she entered into Glory, and went to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Jan. 20, 2022.

She was born in Fort Stockton, Texas, to Refugio Ramos and Ester Ramirez Ramos on May 25, 1925. She was the third of nine children, seven of whom preceded her in death.

Prowlers claim first district win of season

Hopes of making the postseason are very much alive for the Prowlers after they claimed their first district win of the season on Jan. 21 at Pecos.

A trio of Prowlers – Mia Garcia, Alyana Dominguez, Eliana Mata – scored in double-digits and Sophie Hernandez secured 13 rebounds in the Prowlers 64-39 victory.

Fort Stockton head coach Sherman Chew said his crew came ready to play from the opening tip and never let off the gas in their first district win of the season.
