Samuel Lawrence Fuentes, of Fort Stockton at 1 p.m., officers from the Fort Stockton Police Department apprehended Fuentes on a warrant for assault causes bodily injury family violence. Fuentes received a $25,000 bond and is still in jail.

Monahans pulls away from Prowlers in second half, claim 22-point victory

Eliana Mata led a second quarter rally and Alyana Dominguez continued it after halftime, leading to a 24-24 tie with six minutes left in the third during Tuesday’s game against Monahans to begin the second round of district play.

From that point forward Monahans outscored the Prowlers 34-17 on their way to a 63-41 win.

COVID-19 cases show downward trend in county

Pecos County reached an all-time high of 341 COVID-19 active cases on Jan. 12 as reported by the county’s emergency management coordinator Jessie Dominguez.

That number has since dropped to 205 active cases as of Jan. 24. Four people were reported to be hospitalized at Pecos County Memorial Hospital on Jan. 24 and four additional Pecos County residents were hospitalized at various healthcare facilities outside of the county.
