UIL realignment: Fort Stockton football joined by rivals Monahans, Pecos in new district

The 2022-2024 district football alignments were released by the University Interscholastic League on Feb. 3.

Fort Stockton will be facing some familiar foes and get some new competition as they move down from 4A Division I to 4A Division II.

The Panthers will be joined in 4A Division II District 1 by local rivals Monahans and Pecos, along with Clint, Mountain View, and Fabens.

Fort Stockton downed by district elites

The Fort Stockton girls basketball team competed against the top two teams in District 2-4A – Seminole and Greenwood – over the last seven days.

The Prowlers were downed by the Seminole in a road matchup by the score of 88-25. The Maidens are the only undefeated team left in the district and ranked No. 18 in Class 4A according to the Texas Association of Basketball Coaches.

City of Fort Stockton combats multiple water leaks

The City of Fort Stockton’s water and wastewater departments joined forces last Friday as four infrastructure leaks were reported and repaired throughout the day. “We had four water leaks happen within eighteen hours,” said Interim Public Works Director Luis Guerra.
