The Annie Riggs Memorial Museum hosted its second Summer Off The Patio concert on Thursday, June 9. The show featured singer Stephen K. Morris on guitar accompanied by Luiz Coutinho on the drums. Together, the pair put on a performance of Americana music as the audience reclined around the patio in the warmth of a golden sunset.

NEW BUSINESS IN TOWN: BREW LANE CAFÉ EXPRESS

Brew Lane Café Express, owned by local pharmacist Gavyn Thomas and Leslie Rodriguez, opened their doors for the first time to the public on May 25. The business, located at 302 E. Dickinson Blvd., offers items that you can find nowhere else in town such as their nitro cold brew. Tuesday’s triple digit weather led many travelers to pull in for a cold drink or to let their engines cool. In the company of many vehicles was a hybrid between a school bus and an RV that stopped in town for a rest.

Toastmasters inducted two new members to their club in April. Toastmasters was happy to welcome Judge Ruben D. Salinas and Joni McGee. Joining Toastmasters can help you achieve your personal and professional goals. Toastmasters can help you improve your leadership skills, meet professional goals, improve presentation skills, become a more effective speaker and network with others or build social connections! Toastmasters meet on the second and fourth Fridays at noon for one hour, at the public library with lunch provided. The next meetings are scheduled for June 10 and 24, 2022.
