Car show takes center stage at Barrio Fest

The Barrio Fest Car show, held on Sept. 17, brought out cars and trucks of all types, including sports cars, classics, lowriders, and custom made. The car show winners included: Ryan Flores, Mayor’s Choice; Jerry Sanchez, Best of Show; Roger Jimenez, Best Lowtrider; Dana Beck, Best Classic; Yvonne Dominguez, Best Truck; Nick Kennel, Best Engine; Ryan Flores, Best Paint. Barrio Fest weekend a success in Fort Stockton

“We can’t wait for next year!” The shared sentiment was voiced among many attendees at Barrio Fest – a four-day festival that celebrated the Hispanic culture and heritage of Fort Stockton from Sept. 15-18.

The Comanche Tortilla & Tamale Factory was awarded with a certificate of recognition from the Pecos County Historical Commission as a part of Barrio Fest on Sept. 16. Receiving the award was owner J.B. Gallegos.

Fort Stockton grad takes part in Congressional internship

Reanna Losoya is a senior at Texas Tech University and is majoring in political science with a minor in legal studies. Losoya is currently in Washington, D.C. on a Congressional internship for the fall 2022 semester working with the U.S. House of Representatives.
