Fort Stockton woman dies in rollover crash

The Texas Department of Public Safety reported on Sunday that a 40-year-old Fort Stockton woman died in a rollover accident on Friday, Feb. 12 on U.S Highway 67 at mile marker 810 – 26 miles northeast of Fort Stockton.

Lorena Ramirez was pronounced dead at the scene of the single-car crash that happened at 6:55 a.m.

James Solomon Shellenberger, 88, of Fort Stockton, Texas, died Jan. 24, 2021.

James was preceded in death by his loving wife, Jimmie Lee Bean Shellenberger.

Blue Wave swimmers conclude season

Anthony Gomez came away from the Region I 5A Swimming and Diving Championship in Lubbock as Fort Stockton’s top finisher, recording the eighth most points in the diving competition for the boys team. The Panthers placed 14th in a 30 team field while the Prowlers finished in a three-way tie for 15th place in a 28-team region.

The Panthers started off the game hot, scoring 19 in the first quarter.
