.The Prowlers had an amazing Spring Break at the THSWPA State Meet. finishing with two podium spots. Jasmin Hernandez was crowned the state champ in the 97-pound weight class with a 635-pound total. Belle Urbano finished in fifth place in the 114-pund weight class with a 745-pound total. As a team, Fort Stockton finished sixth out of 26 schools participating. “We’re proud of these young ladies and all the hard work they put in throughout the season,” said coach Ivan Pena.

The Fort Stockton High School track team competed in the Sandhills Relays in Monahans last Friday, with many athletes setting personal records. The Prowlers finished fourth in the team standings with 84 points. Following at the results for the Fort Stockton Prowlers: “Overall, this was the best effort of the season by the Prowlers and we will continue to work towards being our best for the upcoming district meet,” said coach Jhett Norman.

Prowlers open district with loss to Greenwood

The 4th-ranked Fort Stockton Prowlers began District 3-4A play on Friday in what was the team’s regular-season home-opener in their 17th game of the season to date. The Prowlers played great defense, but the bats struggled to get started as the Rangerettes got the better of Fort Stockton, 4-0.

Trash Pandas pay it forward

The Fort Stockton Trash Pandas recently received a generous donation. However, instead of keeping it for themselves, they chose to pay it forward to the Fort Stockton Special Needs Athletes. Despite feeling humbled by this gesture, both the young men and their parents refrained from making a big deal about it. Nevertheless, the Recreation Department felt compelled to share their story.

Fort Stockton tennis competes at Midland Legacy

The Junior Varsity Panthers traveled to the Bush Tennis Center in Midland March 6 for the Legacy Invitational. In a stacked bracket with all four Class 6A schools in attendance, the Panthers put on a show and demonstrated the # NeverGiveUpNeverGiveIn attitude by keep the matches tight and always fighting. One Panther that stood out was freshman Aubrey Ramirez, after a tough first round loss she made her way into the consolation finals where she lost a tight one in the tiebreaker 9-7.
