This past weekend Joshua Franco, great nephew of Rudy and Sophia Franco, made his hometown pro debut. Josh, who is a four-time national amateur champion, fought his second pro fight at the Ector County coliseum Saturday night.

With playoff hopes on the line for baseball and a dramatic finish for softball, both programs gave their fans plenty to cheer for at home.

Panther Baseball Outlasts Pecos in Extra Innings

The Fort Stockton Panther Baseball Team hit the road last week for back-to-back district matchups, delivering a mix of drama, power, and resilience as they secured an extra-inning win over Pecos before falling in a tightly contested battle against Andrews. Tuesday night’s showdown against the Pecos Eagles was a test of endurance and heart, stretching out to ten innings before the Panthers came away with a commanding 11-4 victory.
