Junior Tori Owens has four hits as the Sul Ross State University softball team (8-36 Lone Star Conference, 11-42) lost 11-1 and 12-4 to Eastern New Mexico (23-21 LSC, 30-24), Sunday at Lobo Softball Field.

This past weekend Joshua Franco, great nephew of Rudy and Sophia Franco, made his hometown pro debut. Josh, who is a four-time national amateur champion, fought his second pro fight at the Ector County coliseum Saturday night.

The Fort Stockton High School softball and baseball teams closed out their district schedules this past week with emotional and hard-fought matchups on Senior Night. With playoff hopes on the line for baseball and a dramatic finish for softball, both programs gave their fans plenty to cheer for at home.

Three Fort Stockton Panther athletes represented Fort Stockton High School on one of the biggest stages in West Texas at the UIL 4A Region I Track Meet held April 18-19 at Lowrey Field at PlainsCapital Park in Lubbock.

The Fort Stockton Panther Baseball Team hit the road last week for back-to-back district matchups, delivering a mix of drama, power, and resilience as they secured an extra-inning win over Pecos before falling in a tightly contested battle against Andrews. Tuesday night’s showdown against the Pecos Eagles was a test of endurance and heart, stretching out to ten innings before the Panthers came away with a commanding 11-4 victory.

Fort Stockton High School will be sending three Panthers to the UIL Regional Track and Field Meet in Lubbock this weekend after standout performances at the 3-4A and 4-4A Area Meet held in Andrews on April 10.
