This summer, Fort Stockton ISD hosted a series of youth sports camps that brought Panther spirit and athletic energy to the field, court, and green. From football to basketball to golf, the district’s coaches and staff created a fun and focused environment where young athletes could sharpen their skills and build confidence.

Fort Stockton 14U Girls Represent with Heart at Texas West State Tournament

The Fort Stockton 14U Junior Softball Team wrapped up an unforgettable All-Star run last week at the Texas West State Tournament in Abilene. Representing District 37 and Section 1 with pride, this talented and determined group of athletes gave it their all in three competitive games, capping off a stellar summer season with the titles of District and Section Champions and a final record of 5–2.

Yankees Rally for the Win

The Fort Stockton Recreation Minor League Baseball season came to a thrilling close last week as the Yankees pulled off a dramatic comeback to win the City Championship Tournament. After a weather delay that pushed the tournament back from its original May 22 start date, league play resumed on July 8 and wrapped up with seven final games, culminating in a championship showdown between the undefeated Yankees, coached by Lorenzo Hayes, and the Royals, led by Ruben Bernal.

Cowboys Take Series Over Garden City Before Falling to Roswell

The Alpine Cowboys added a hardearned series win to their resume last Tuesday, edging out the Garden City Wind 5-4 at Clint Lightner Stadium. Behindacommandingperformancefrom starting pitcher Jacob Bradley and clutch offense, Alpine sealed the rubber match of the three-game series before heading to Roswell, where they would struggle through a tough three-game stretch against the Invaders.

The Alpine Cowboys faced a rollercoaster week of baseball as they battled through back-to-back series against the Pecos Bills and the Garden City Wind during a festive and competitive Fourth of July stretch. The week began with back-to-back losses to the Pecos Bills.
Friday’s Fourth of July doubleheader at Kokernot Field, capped a dramatic 7-6 comeback victory over Pecos after dropping Game 1 in a 12-11 thriller. The twin bill replaced Thursday’s weather-canceled game, treating fans to holiday fireworks both on the field and in the sky. Courtesy Photo

Two Earn Prestigious Lone Star Degree

Fort Stockton FFA members were among the more than 16,000 students in attendance at the 97th annual Texas FFA State Convention, held June 30 through July 4 in Fort Worth. The weeklong event served as a celebration of agricultural education, leadership, and student achievement across the Lone Star State.
