SILVER CITY, N.M. – The Sul Ross State University softball team battled to a doubleheader split against Western New Mexico University on Sunday afternoon at The Yard, dropping the first game 12-3 before rallying for an 8-7 victory in the nightcap.

The Fort Stockton Panther baseball team took to the road over spring break, playing three games against tough competition. The Panthers secured a win against the Reagan County Owls before falling to Presidio and Midland High.

Powerlifter Summer Hinojos placed 5th in her weight class at the High School Women’s Powerlifting Association State Meet in Edinburg, Texas. 

Fort Stockton High School’s Jasmin Hernandez has once again proven herself as a dominant force in Texas high school powerlifting, winning her second consecutive state title in the 97-pound weight class at the Texas High School Women’s Powerlifting Association State Meet. The senior made history in Edinburg, Texas, solidifying her legacy as one of the best lifters in the state.

The Fort Stockton Panthers baseball team put together an impressive stretch of games over the past week, going 3-1 in the West Texas Classic before picking up another key win over Reagan County. The Panthers demonstrated their ability to battle through adversity, bounce back from tough losses, and deliver clutch performances, improving their overall record to 9-4.

The Fort Stockton Panthers Powerlifting Team had a strong showing at the Regionals Powerlifting Meet, held March 7-8 at Abilene Wylie High School. With six Panthers qualifying for the regional competition, the team showcased their strength and determination, with one lifter earning a spot at the state meet.

The Fort Stockton Panthers and Prowlers Track Teams made their mark at the Big Spring Invitational on March 6, with the Panthers securing a close second-place finish, while the Prowlers showcased impressive individual and relay performances.
