Fort Stockton Athletic Director and head football coach Mike Peters was selected as the 2021 Region IV Athletic Director of the Year this past week. Peters is one of eight athletic directors in the state that were selected as AD’s from their specific region.

A total of four Prowlers were named to the All-District 2-4A basketball teams last week. Junior Alyana Dominguez was selected to the district’s first team.

Kendrick Porras and Jaylee Ibarra had strong showings at the regional finals powerlifting meet in Sundown on Saturday. Ibarra and Porras each finished third in their respective weight class to lead the Panthers.

The Fort Stockton softball team began district play at Monahans on Tuesday, March 16 with a 27-1 defeat Despite a strong start, a string of errors gave the Lady Loboes the momentum they needed. The Prolwers took a 1-0 lead in the top of the first inning via a Shelby Murphy single.

The Fort Stockton junior varsity white Panther baseball team traveled to Pecos on Tuesday, March 16 to take on the Eagles. The Panthers were able to avenge their loss from a couple weekends ago against the Eagles, and came out on top this time with a 12-7 victory.

The Prowlers took their first loss of the season last night to the Monahans Lady Loboes 10-1 in their first district contest. Freshman Sabrina Cook pitched an efficient game with numerous strikeouts.

Both Prowler softball teams travelled to Lamesa on Saturday to take on Lamesa and Lubbock Coronado. The JV Prowlers only played one game against Lamesa and won 13-10.

The Texas Parks and Wildlife Department is now taking public comment on the following proposed changes to the 2021-2022 statewide Hunting and Migratory Game Bird proclamations. Add crossbow to the definition of lawful archery equipment.

Fort Stockton rebounded from a loss on Tuesday, March 2 to Denver City with a 7-5 victory over Perryton in their first game of the Levelland Linedrive Classic on Thursday, March 4 before dropping their final three games of the event.

The Fort Stockton girls golf team placed second in Alpine on Tuesday, March 2. The Prowlers team consisted of Gabriela Galindo, Savannah Carrillo, Ariana Ureste, and Adriana Aguilar. The Prowlers will be back in action in Monahans on March 16th. Courtesy Photo
