Sul Ross Athletics has hired Oscar Ray Jimenez as its Athletics Business Coordinator.

He will join the staff on July 6.

"I am very excited to begin this opportunity since I see this as a great fit for me," said Jimenez. "It's a great way to excel in my career being a business professional in higher education."

Jimenez graduated from Sul Ross in August of 2018 with a bachelors in business administration. He went on to work as a Universal Teller for TransPecos Banks before returning to his Alma Mater in July of 2019 as Business Manager at the Bryan Wildenthal Memorial Library. There he worked with the Purchasing Office on travel procedures and budgeting.

"It definitely is something that motivated me, starting here and to see the opportunity to develop myself here at Sul Ross while staying in the area," said Jimenez.

"We are excited to have Oscar join us," said Athletic Director Amanda Workman. "His energy, enthusiasm and experience will be invaluable to our team."

Jimenez was born and raised in Alpine and is currently taking classes at Sul Ross in pursuit of his MBA.
