Where Ya Headed?

Roadrunners eat scorpions in the wild, but that wasn’t the case for Paisano Pete and Scotty. The rare crossing of a giant roadrunner and giant scorpion occurred earlier this month after a casual pit stop at the local Dairy Queen.

FSISD STUDENTS OF THE MONTH

The Fort Stockton Independent School District recognized five Students of the Month for October at the district’s school board meeting on Oct. 18. One student from each campus was presented a certificate by the principal at the campus they attend.

“Where Ya Headed?”

Holding his sandwich with two hands, traveler Bob Suzan sat in his van at the far corner of the Walmart parking lot. Barefoot and calm, he let his door hang open to welcome in the cool evening breezes. "I'm originally from Massachusetts, but I've lived in California for 52 years," he began.
Bob Suzan quietly finished a sandwich in the Walmart parking lot. Tucked inside his 1983 air-cooled Volkswagen, the traveling widower took his shoes off and rested from his hours out on the backroads.

FSISD Students of the Month

Logan Hardee, middle, was named the Alamo Student of the Month for September at Monday’s school board meeting. Hardee was presented the award by principal Sabrina Cordova.

PEP RALLY AT FOCUSED CARE

Fort Stockton High School band members, football players and cheerleaders put on a pep rally for residents at Focused Care at Fort Stockton on Oct. 14. The cheerleaders led a variety of cheers and the band played the school fight song along with many other tunes for the residents.
