PEP RALLY AT FOCUSED CARE

Fort Stockton High School band members, football players and cheerleaders put on a pep rally for residents at Focused Care at Fort Stockton on Oct. 14. The cheerleaders led a variety of cheers and the band played the school fight song along with many other tunes for the residents. Fort Stockton High School freshman Arael De La Rosa helps pick up trash in the city as a part of a clean-up event hosted by the Keeping Fort Stockton Beautiful organization on Oct. 9. Every grade is encouraged to do volunteer hours towards their Scholars Hours - a state program that recognizes students for their volunteerism when they graduate. Freshmen have a requirement of five hours and the amount of time needed for the recognition increases with each grade level. Courtesy Photos

Toastmasters met Sept. 24th at the Fort Stockton Public Library. Congratulations go to Oscar Gonzalez, Alicia Salinas and Karan Heffelfinger for earning awards at the meeting. Oscar Gonzalez was presented the Best Speaker Award by Karan Heffelfinger, Alicia Salinas was presented the Best Table Topics Award by Karan Heffelfinger, and Karan Heffelfinger was presented the Best Evaluator Award by Dee Dee Warren.

Emerging from a black decal-wrapped trailer, Jon Hebrank removed his sunglasses and said, “We’ve got a robot traveling with us.” Hebrank is the co-founder of ReelBros Media, a commercial media company that provides all ranges of production services to various agencies and clients. His founding partner, Alex Schreer, exited the same trailer with a mustache and a smile to shed light on their current road trip with a robot.
John and Alex of ReelBros, a broadcasting and media production company, stopped to fuel up at the Loves Travel Stop on Monday.
