Summer Off The Patio: JM Stevens

Austin-based song writer JM Stevens continued the summer-long Summer Off The Patio concert series at the Annie Riggs Museum in Fort Stockton with a live performance on July 7. Stevens’ album “Invisibles Lines” and music can be found on Spotify, iTunes, and Apple Music. School Board of the Year

The Fort Stockton Independent School District School Board was recognized as the Texas Rural Education Association School Board of the Year at the organization’s annual banquet on June 28. The event was held in Round Rock at the Kalahari Resort. The Fort Stockton ISD School Board was selected out of the 392 school districts in the state that are members of TREA. Midland College WRTTC recognizes CNA graduates

Midland College WRTTC held a pinning ceremony for their recent Certified Nursing Assistant graduates on July 7 at Fort Stockton Community Theatre. Linda Esquivel, Assistant Professor of Health Sciences, pinned the CNAs and presented them with their certificates. Students who were pinned and recognized at Thursday’s event were: Kimberly Arias, Gabriela Gonzalez, Patricia Ibarra, Maria Padilla, Krystal Ramirez, Jazmine Trevino, Daisy Villarreal, Nancy Ybarra, Gabriela Zuniga.

Toastmasters President Karan Heffelfinger presented the following awards at the group’s meeting on June 10. Daniel Salamanca, top, won the Best Table Topics Speaker award at the meeting. Alicia Salinas, bottom, was recognized as the best evaluator and Ruben Salinas (not pictured) was selected as the Best Speaker. Meetings are held on the 2nd and 4th Fridays at the public library from noon to 1 p.m. with lunch provided. You are cordially invited to attend.
