The Nature Conservancy (TNC) recently featured two of its most critical West Texas sites, Diamond Y Spring Preserve and Sandia Springs Preserve, in a series of guided tours, allowing limited access to these fragile desert ecosystems. These tours, which took place on December 5 and December 6, highlight TNC’s ongoing efforts to protect the precious freshwater that serves as the lifeblood of the arid region.

Last week, Senator César J. Blanco was honored by the American Association of Retired Persons (AARP) of Texas as the recipient of the 2025 Legislative Achievement Award. This award recognizes lawmakers who championed legislation benefiting older Texans during the 89th Legislative Session.

Fort Stockton Community Theatre is excited to announce the return of “Las Nuevas Tamaleras” to The Nelson Street Theatre stage for its third consecutive year. The play is scheduled for performances on Saturday, November 8, at 7:00 p.m.

The Fort Stockton Film Society will screen the Warner Brothers classic, Sergeant York Saturday night, November 15 at the Nelson Street Theater, 102 S. Nelson at 7:00 p.m.

On Tuesday, November 11, at 6:00 p.m., the Pecos County Dinner Tonight Cooking Club will host its Thanksgiving meal. Members will be bringing their specialty dishes, then dining together.
