Big Bend Ranch Rodeo

Body
The 2024 Big Bend Ranch Rodeo is just around the corner on August 9-10 and the association anticipates this year’s event to be bigger and better than ever. We will continue the “2 go” format to make the performance even more competitive--- each team will compete in each event each night.

Formerly known as Christina’s Operation Backpack, headed by Christina Pacheco, this event began in 2012, and its impetus was due to four children who were living with their grandmother at the time and needed school supplies for the upcoming school year. Lucia called to announce

Body
PECOS – It’s been four years since Anthony Lucia received the phone call that changed his life. “I had just gone full bore into announcing late the summer before, and to get that telephone call to be the announcer of the West of the Pecos Rodeo was special, to say the least,” said Lucia, a competitor and specialty act before handling the role of rodeo emcee.
Anthony Lucia’s smooth delivery and expert knowledge of the sport is why he’s an asset as the emcee of the West of the Pecos Rodeo. He grew up around rodeo as both an entertainer and competitor, and it’s a natural fit for him to call the action at the “World’s First Rodeo.”
