Fort Stockton played host to one of the nation’s premier youth baseball organizations over the weekend as the city welcomed its firstever Perfect Game tournament to Shuster and Taylor Fields, drawing teams from across West Texas and showcasing some of the region’s top young talent.

The Alpine Cowboys closed the 2026 regular season with a strong offensive stretch at Kokernot Field, securing second place in the Mountain Division South and a spot in the Pecos League playoffs. Alpine finished the regular season with a 28-21-1 record and a .571 winning percentage.

As Gary Garcia enters his second season leading the Fort Stockton Prowlers, the wins and losses are no longer his only measuring stick. After spending his first year establishing expectations, Garcia believes the program has reached a turning point built on something much more important: trust.

Registration is now underway for the 2026 youth soccer season, with families having until Aug. 4to sign up for the upcoming fall league.
