Patsy was preceded in death by her parents, Jose Vasquez and Irene Caro; and brothers, Rodolfo Vasquez, Jose Sonny, Jr., and Isael Vasquez.
Jessica Megan Francis Woodruff was born Jan. 14, 1986, in El Paso, Texas, the daughter of Cynthia Roscoe-Carlos and Ted Woodruff. Following a brief illness, she received Last Rights, and passed to be with the Lord on March 3, 2021, in El Paso.
David Ramirez, 42, of Fort Stockton, Texas, passed away on March 4, 2021, in Odessa, Texas.
Viewing will be held on Wednesday, March 10, 2021 from noon-9 p.m. at Alpha y Omega Church at 1200 North Butz, Fort Stockton, with a prayer service at 7 p.m.
Sofia Prieto Matta entered into rest on March 1, 2021, in McCamey, Texas. She was born June 29, 1931, to Jose Prieto and Sista Contreras Prieto in Balmorhea, Texas. She married the love of her life, Crispin S. Matta, on May 20, 1950, in Balmorhea. They raised their amazing children there, and moved to Fort Stockton, Texas, in 1979. We all knew that the time would be soon, but nothing could truly prepare us for losing our heart and soul.
Magdaleno “Leno” Rios passed away on Feb. 28, 2021, at the age of 69. He was born on Sept. 20, 1951, in Fort Stockton, Texas, to Magdaleno Fierro Rios and Antonia Gonzales Rios.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Fidel Rios, and sister Santos Gonzales.
Funeral services for Jackie Johnson, 90, of Gilmer, Texas, were held March 1, 2021, at McWhorter Funeral Home in Gilmer with Bro. Matt Darby officiating. The family received friends prior to the service. Interment took place March 2, 2021, at East Hill Cemetery in Fort Stockton, Texas.
Wanda Ellen Brewer Morrow, 96, peacefully departed on Feb. 23, 2021, at her home in San Angelo, Texas. Wanda was born Nov. 24, 1924, the third daughter born to John and Monie Brewer in Elmore City, Okla.
Robert Huerta Pena, Jr., of Fort Stockton, Texas, passed away from this life on Feb. 16, 2021, at Odessa Regional Medical Center. He was born to Robert H. Pena, Sr., and Sally Salazar in Phoenix, Ariz., on March 4, 1945.
Robert graduated from Odessa High School in 1963. He joined the National Guard in Dec. 22, 1965, in Midland, Texas, and served until Dec. 21, 1971.
María Isabel Rodríguez, 73, of La Rosita, Coahuila, Mexico, transitioned to be with our Father in Heaven on Feb. 16, 2021 in Odessa, Texas.
Prayer service was held on Feb. 22, 2021, at Christian Center in Fort Stockton, Texas. Funeral Mass was celebrated on Feb. 23, 2021, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish with Father Lorenzo Hatch officiating. She will be laid to rest at Fort Stockton Catholic Cemetery.
Lou Ann McKenzie, 86, of Fort Stockton, Texas, passed away peacefully on Feb. 13, 2021, in Houston, Texas, surrounded by family and her grand-dog Gigi. Lou Ann’s passing was on the same date as her mother, Ione Lowry, 35 years earlier.
Lou Ann Lowry was welcomed into the world by her parents, Lloyd George Lowry and Florence Ione Booles Lowry, on Sept. 10, 1934, in Weatherford, Texas. Lou Ann was the middle child, with two older brothers, Bobby and Billy, and three younger sisters, Margie, Linda, and Lynn.
