Funeral services for Jackie Johnson, 90, of Gilmer, Texas, were held March 1, 2021, at McWhorter Funeral Home in Gilmer with Bro. Matt Darby officiating. The family received friends prior to the service. Interment took place March 2, 2021, at East Hill Cemetery in Fort Stockton, Texas.

Jackie was born June 21, 1930, in Hill County, Texas, to Johnny and Lily Dunn Richardson, and passed from this life Feb. 26, 2021, in Gilmer. She married Eldeen Johnson on Dec. 13, 1947. She was formerly of Fort Stockton, and was a resident there for 37 years. She then relocated to East Texas to be closer to family.

Her hobbies included gardening, bird watching, long walks, and spending time with family and loved ones.

After many job positions, she found her dream job working at the Annie Riggs Museum and the Fort. She loved being a part of sharing the history of Fort Stockton. Jackie was a member of the Assembly of God Church.

Those left to cherish her memory are her children Eldeen "Pete" Johnson Jr. (Betsy), Janet McKelvy, and Dee Nance (David); brothers G.W. “Dub” Richardson (Wanda), and Bobby Richardson; sisters Lessie Nicholson and Joyce Coats; grandchildren Trish, Samuel, Philip, David, Dorian, Meagan, William, Shauna, Nicki, and Jeffery; eight great grandchildren; and six great great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Eldeen Johnson, Sr., in 2002; son Allen Johnson; granddaughter Beverly Nance; son-in-law Larry McKelvy; brothers Johnny Richardson, Marvin Richardson, and Jimmy Richardson; and sisters Lois Alds, Maggie Hambrick, and Nell Odom.
