John Dalton Vick, 60, of Midland, Texas passed away Monday, August 3, 2020, in Jeff Davis County, Texas. John was a cowboy on several ranches across Texas. He was a top hand with all things horses and cattle. His later years in life he worked over 25 years in the oilfield mostly as a rig mover. My heart is heavy to announce Carmen Villarreal passed away on July 9, 2020. She was born to Ricardo and Eufemia Loya in Alpine, Texas. She was a sister to Rosa and Esperanza Loya. Alpine Memorial Funeral Home was entrusted with her services. more
Thomas Randal Greer was born in Iraan, Texas, on October 20, 1939, to Edna Mae Graves and John L. Greer.  He died on July 28, 2020, at Iraan General Hospital at age 80. Graveside services will be led by Pastor Eric Bayer on Monday, August 3, 2020, at 9 a.m. at the Sheffield Cemetery under the direction of Shaffer- Nichols Funeral Home. Pallbearers are Tommy’s nephews. more
Jimmy Chionsini passed away on July 21, 2020, in Petoskey, Michigan, near his home he shared with his wife of 26 years, Macy. Living on Round Lake in Charlevoix, Michigan, was the place he wanted to be – in the summer.  He spent his winters in San Angelo and on the No Name Ranch. With the help of many, in 1978 Jimmy ventured out to start his own newspaper group consisting of small town papers that ultimately became Granite Publications – including the Fort Stockton Pioneer. Macy plans to have two going away parties for Jimmy. One will be in San Angelo, and the other will be in Charlevoix, both at a later date. more
Barbara Anne Blakesley, 77, of Round Rock, TX passed away on Saturday July 18, 2020 from complicated health issues.  Barbara was born in Robinson, Ill., to Robert “Bob” and Dorothy Beckett on November 21, 1942.  She later moved to Iraan, Texas, where she grew up and met her late husband, Lloyd Keith Blakesley, while working as a waitress at a local diner. The two were married on May 25, 1960, a union that was blessed with five children.  A memorial service and a celebration of her life is being planned for August. more

Gaynell Petty Ham passed from this world into the arms of Jesus on Wednesday, July 15, 2020. She was born in Lueders, Texas on Jan. 5, 1934, to Aleck and Blinn Petty, and was the youngest of 10 children. In Lueders, she met the love of her life, Jerry. They married young, against many odds, on March 12, 1949, and kept an enduring love for one another for 71 years, Their marriage was a remarkable example and an exceptional gift to us all. more
Judge Arthur Roby Hadden, Sr., 91, passed away peacefully and went to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, July 20, 2020. A graveside service will be held on Monday, July 27, 2020, at 9:30 a.m. at Rose Hill Cemetery in Tyler, with Pastor Shane Barnes of Grace Community Church officiating, under the direction of Stewart Family Funeral Home. He was a 1947 graduate of Fort Stockton High School. more
Pablo Ramos Chavez, of Fort Stockton, Texas, passed away July 21, 2020, in Fort Stockton, Texas, at the age of 84. He was born and raised in the Oldest Historic house of Fort Stockton on Sept. 9, 1935, to Tino and Maria Chavez. In April of 1956, he married his wife, Petra Rodriguez. They were married for 64 years. In March of 1974, together they own and operated the Fort Stockton Body Shop which is currently operated today by his children. Private services will be held by the family. more
Doris Freitag Malone passed away on July 19, 2020 at McCamey Convalescent Center, which had been her home since Oct. 2014. She was 99 years of age. She was the oldest living graduate of Fort Stockton High School. A private service will be held by the family. more
