Softball: Prowlers rally not quite enough in district opener

Fort Stockton rallied from a 4-0 deficit on the road, tying the game at 4-4 in the top of the seventh inning but came up short in their district opener against the Rangerettes this evening.

Adree Bueno hit her fifth home run of the season for the Prowlers - two more than a season ago with nine regular season games still remaining.

Fort Stockton has a bye on Tuesday during Spring Break before a critical district game at home versus Pecos on Friday, Feb. 17.

Fort Stockton trio medal in Big Spring

The Fort Stockton Panther tennis team traveled to Big Spring last Friday in preparation for the upcoming district tournament, and had some great individual performances according to head coach Victor Garcia.

“They kicked off March in a great fashion and showing that they will be peaking at the right time with multiple kids reaching semifinals,” Garcia said.

Fort Stockton tennis medalists in Big Spring were Joslyn Pacheco, Athena Gomez, and Jeremiah Ramirez.

Another record-setting day for Blue Wave middle schoolers

Fort Stockton Middle School’s Blue Wave swim team made a statement last weekend at the Odessa Middle School Invitational. The girls won the meet and the boys were second, just eight points off the pace for first place.

School records fell once again for the Blue Wave.

Senate unveils electric grid reform package

Members of the Senate Business and Commerce Committee were joined by Lt. Governor Dan Patrick at a press conference Thursday to unveil a package of nine bills aimed at strengthening the electric grid, adding more thermal generation, and providing enough energy to supply the state's fast growing population for the future.
