Carlos Ray Garcia loving father, brother, uncle, son, boyfriend and friend, went to be with Our Lord on Sept. 4, 2021, in Las Vegas, Nev.
The Fort Stockton Substandard Building Committee was formed to ensure public safety by securing, repairing or removing local properties that are abandoned or deemed hazardous.
During their last regular meeting, the committee released a property that has been sitting on their list for years: 1206 W. Sheerer.
The property was condemned and close to being demolished when Fort Stockton electrician Jorge Leyva decided to swoop in and purchase it for a remodel.
Santana F. Sarabia, 87, entered rest on Sept. 19, 2021. He was born on July 26, 1934, in Sanderson, Texas, to Manuela Fuentes DelaCruz and Epifanio Sarabia.
Santana was highly active in his Catholic faith while his health permitted him to participate. He served as Eucharistic minister and choir member, and hosted a Bible study and prayer group for young adults at his home. He was also a proud member of the Holy Name Society.
