Fort Stockton showed heart, but the Prowler volleyball team was unable to overcome a flurry of errors in a hard-fought loss to Seminole on Sept. 28 in their first district home game.

Fort Stockton fell in four sets (14-25, 25-18, 28-26, 25-20).

The Prowlers looked as good as they have all season in set one against Seminole at home on Sept. 28. Fort Stockton jumped out to a 13-1 lead and went on to secure a 25-14 first-set victory.

Eulalio “Eddie” Carrasco Rodriguez, Jr., 92, beloved husband, father, and grandfather, was called to his eternal resting place on Sept. 16, 2021 in Austin, Texas. Eulalio was born in Fort Stockton, Texas, to Eulalio and Maria Rodriguez, Sr., on Sept. 8, 1929.

Eulalio was born and raised in Fort Stockton. He joined the U.S. Marine Corps in March 1952 where he earned the National Defense Service Medal, Korean Service Medal, and the United Nations Service Medal.

Fort Stockton defeated Pecos 42-0 on Sept. 24 to improve their season record to 4-1. The shutout victory was the first since 2018 for the Panthers.

The Fort Stockton cross country team received their toughest test this season on Sept. 25 at the Lubbock ISD Invitational.

Both divisions featured over 100 runners and the Panthers were able to come away with three top-30 finishes.

Ali Jackson led all Fort Stockton runners with an eighth-place finish in the girl’s two-mile race. Jackson crossed the finish line in 13 minutes 10.8 seconds. Returning state qualifier Leslie Esquivel took 29th place out of 117 runners.
