Where Ya Headed?

Body
In 2021, it is not uncommon to hear some unusual names, but possibly one of the most uncommon of names arrived in Fort Stockton this week. “My name is Spiral Staircase,” said the wanderer without giving a second thought.

It's not every day you see an artist standing in the grass painting a giant roadrunner, but that's exactly what happened here in Fort Stockton on March 22.

Soaking up the sun, painter Shea Daniel-Youngblood spent a few hours painting Paisano Pete outside the Chamber of Commerce Visitor's Center. Completely unfazed by the numerous cars passing by on Dickinson Boulevard, she appeared lost in the moment as she applied colors to her canvas.

Emerging from their car with stacks of Frisbees, travelers Greg and Garret were ready to unwind with a game of disc golf at the Rooney Park on March 20.

"We're headed to Austin," Greg said. "I was previously living in Colorado, but for the last eight months we've been out on the road riding out COVID. I quit my job, quit my lease, and now we're living in the car. No regrets. Cruising is a fun life."

Friends Greg and Garret stopped in Fort Stockton to enjoy the sunny weather and some disc golf at the Rooney Park on Saturday.

The Bible is clear

Body
Last week we looked at the first letter of the acronym SCAN in regard to the characteristics of the Bible - sufficiency, clarity, authority, and necessity. This week we will look at the Bible’s clarity. The Bible is clear. We like to think we live in a time that is unique in rejecting this reality, but it has really always been this way because of sin. People have always desired for no clear and objective truth, especially when it comes to the Word of God.

St. Patrick’s Day celebrations in America date back to the country’s founding. With large parties discouraged this year due to COVID-19, 2021 celebrations may look a little different. However, one aspect of St. Patrick’s Day celebrations will remain - alcohol consumption - which is why it is important to remember that buzzed driving is drunk driving.
