Fort Stockton Community Theatre’s production of “A Bad Year for Tomatoes,” a comedy by John Patrick and directed by Alice Duerksen will open tomorrow, Friday, Aug. 27 at 7:00 p.m. for a six-performance run. The performances are sponsored in part by Edward Jones and First National Bank.

• 1 10 ounce package large marshmallows • ¼ cup margarine or butter • 4 cups granola with raisins • 1½ cup rice crisp cereal • ½ cup shelled sunflower seeds or chopped peanuts Grease a 9 x 13 pan. Put marshmallows and margarine in the saucepan.

Adobero (adobebuilder) Sandro Cánovas held a presentation at the Nelson Street Theater last Thursday to discuss the basics of the adobe building method, it’s cultural influence on West Texas, and the controversy of Marfa housing driving up the cost of what was once known as the “poor man’s construction” material.

Local church welcomes new pastor

The Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish church in Fort Stockton welcomed their new pastor, Fr. Francis Njoku, with a reception at Zero Stone Park on Aug. 8. Njoku joined the church on July 1 and had his installation on July 14.
