Fort Stockton Community Theatre hosts storytelling workshop

Body

They say that every story has a beginning, and for 23 young people from Pecos County, it all started on Sept. 18 at the Fort Stockton Community Theatre’s Storytelling Workshop.

Master Storyteller Sue Roseberry from Midland was on hand for the day-long workshop to teach the art of storytelling and help the participants feel comfortable in front of an audience. Ms. Roseberry was helped by FSCT coaches Ruben Gonzales, Ann Hurt, Jordan Rychlik, and Molly Yeager.

Walking out of a hotel room with a chair and Mesquite Tree cup of coffee, a man who goes by “Squirrel” found himself marooned in Fort Stockton with his girlfriend and two dogs. “Oh, you know, I had a couple of tires fly off while driving down I-10,” he said, taking a relaxed sip of coffee.
Travelers Sabra and Squirrel kicked back at the Budget Inn hotel with their dogs Dank and Modi. Typically, Dank is a very happy dog, but he didn’t smile for the camera in time. Photo by Jeremy Gonzalez

The local Flying J Travel Center houses an electric vehicle charging station known as a Tesla supercharger. The self-driving cars coast into town for a charge on a daily basis, which is what brought in married couple Ever and Alejandra.
