The churches of the Fort Stockton Ministerial Alliance come together each Tuesday to sponsor Lenten luncheons in preparation for Easter. The first one of this season will be held on March 8 at 11:45 a.m. in the fellowship hall of the First Presbyterian Church, located at 202 N Oklahoma St.

The Fort Stockton Chamber of Commerce hosted their annual banquet at the Pecos County Civic Center on Feb. 24 after not having the event for the previous two years.

A baby blue school bus pulled into the City Hall parking lot last week, but not to stop and pay a utility bill. Traveling couple Oak and Leah shuffled out of the vibrant bus to explore the downtown area on foot.

I started my career in Val Verde County where I worked as a criminal deputy clerk for 6 1/2 years before moving to Fort Stockton. In 2007, my family and I moved to Fort Stockton and have made it our home for the past 14 years.
