My favorite holiday pie

Almost everyone has a favorite holiday sweet. Some like cake, some like cookies, others like candy, but me, I like pie. My favorite pie is not a holiday pie. My favorite pie is key lime, because I envision myself in my later years sitting on the veranda sipping a mint julep and enjoying a big slice of that tart and tasty goodness. Since those years are a bit in the future, I do have a favorite holiday pie, pumpkin pie.

It is great to see family and friends, but one always looks forward to the meal and all those special treats that you have only on Thanksgiving. The number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Pecos County took a sharp drop for the first time in three weeks. Pecos County Emergency Management Coordinator Jessie Dominguez reported that there were 30 active cases on Nov.

PCSB to sponsor Foster Child Giving Tree

Child Protective Services has joined efforts with The Pecos County State Bank in sponsoring the “Foster Child Giving Tree” this year. Paper ornaments with names of foster children from our area, with their Christmas wishes, are available at The Pecos County State Bank to pick up and spread the Christmas joy by shopping and providing the gift listed.

A group of Fort Stockton freshmen visited the Midland College/WRTTC campus in Fort Stockton earlier in the month. Students learned about the possibilities of taking dual credit classes and programs where they can earn certifications in energy, nursing and business.

Xi Leta Lambda hosts Holiday Auction

For the first time in 15 years, the Xi Leta Lambda sorority held a Holiday Auction to raise money for scholarships for Fort Stockton High School students. Sorority members made over 40 items ranging from decorations, gift baskets, and baked goods for the auction on Nov.
