Ricky Eugene Gaines, of Stockton, CA at 9:33 a.m., officers from the Department of Public Safety apprehended Gaines and he was charged with trafficking of persons less than 18-years-old. Gaines received a $30,000 bond and was released on Nov. 21.

Fort Stockton High School was put on the map after two students were chosen for the NASA High School Aerospace Scholars Program. Acclimated for high school juniors in Texas, the program allows participants to engage in a STEM learning environment that focuses on NASA’s mission and the next generation of explorers.

Members of Xi Leta Lambda held a Holiday Auction on Nov. 18 at the meeting hall connected to the Fort Stockton Community Theatre. Data center set to bring in 50 jobs

The county has its eyes set on bringing in another data center, which would boost economic development and community growth. The Pecos County Commissioners Court approved a resolution establishing the Mohave Reinvestment Zone and a tax abatement agreement with Fort Blocks LLC, a subsidiary of Cormint Data Systems, for a data hosting and distribution facility at their regular meeting on Nov.

Water well OK’d for MPGCD

The Middle Pecos Groundwater Conservation District will soon gain more insight on water quality and water depth near the Comanche Springs area. MPGCD received approval to drill a water well near the Pecos County Water Improvement #1 office at the Fort Stockton City Council meeting on Nov.

County farmers, ranchers to vote in election

The U.S. Department of Agriculture has started mailing ballots for the Farm Service Agency county committee elections to eligible farmers and ranchers across the country. To be counted, ballots must be returned to the Pecos-Terrell County FSA office at 2306 W Dickinson Blvd, Ste. 1 or postmarked by Dec. 6.

The Fort Stockton Independent School District honored their Student of the Month for November at the district’s regular board meeting on Nov. 15. One student from each campus gets recognized every month. Students that were awarded with a certificate were: Fernando Corralez (high school), Lesly Burrola (intermediate school), Cato Jerry May (Alamo Elementary), Larry Urbano (Apache Elementary).
