Buena Vista got off to a slow start in Tuesday’s District 10-1A matchup against Iraan, but in the end, the Lady Longhorns rolled to a 45-25 win in the intra-county rivalry and solidified their second-place spot in the district with three games to play.
Iraan briefly led in the early moments of the game before Buena Vista (13-9 overall, 6-1 district) took control.
For Buena Vista head boys basketball coach Aaron Notgrass, it’s all about the effort. Which player is going to put in the effort, not necessarily the most scoring numbers, to help win the game. And in Tuesday’s night’s District 10-1A matchup with Iraan, the entire team put in the work and the Longhorns were rewarded with a 52-49 win, securing second place in the district behind Rankin.
