Sul Ross to host youth soccer clinics

Sul Ross State University men’s and women’s soccer teams, in conjunction with the Big Bend Youth Soccer Association, will host weekly skills clinics on Sundays for the local soccer community. The clinics are led by head men’s soccer coach Jon Evan, head women’s soccer coach John Dominguez, and graduate assistant Lorenzo Segura.
Pumpkin Patch 5K

The Pumpkin Patch 5K was held in Coyanosa on Oct. 16 and 54 runners participated in the event. Mariana Sanchez of Imperial was the overall female champion of the event, finishing in 19 minutes 44 seconds. Guillermo Rodriguez was the overall male champion, crossing the fine line in 20:46. Panthers enter districts battletested

Rewind 365 days and the Panthers’ record was at 1-5 entering district play. Three games later Fort Stockton was crowned district champions and the Panthers went on to advance to the second round of the Class 4A playoffs.
This season the script is flipped for Mike Peters’ squad, but the mindset and approach has not changed in any capacity.

Fort Stockton secures homecoming win in final seconds

Fort Stockton head football coach Mike Peters admitted after Friday’s game that his team had played better ball previously in the season.
But the sixth-year head coach let it be known from the beginning of Friday’s postgame interview that the Panthers performance was a distance second to the heart and resolve shown by his players.
