A district championship in back-to-back seasons will come to down to Fort Stockton’s final game of the season against Andrews once again. The Panthers setup their district title showdown on Friday in one of their toughest tests of the season when they hit the road to take on Big Spring on Oct.

Jaydrien Ramirez, Fort Stockton Football – Ramirez played a vital role on the Panthers game-winning drive on Friday at Big Spring. Ramirez scored a rushing touchdown on Fort Stockton’s fi nal drive and tallied the fourth-highest tackle total on the team (6) on defense. The linebacker/running back now has 269 yards rushing, two touchdowns, and 76 tackles this season.

Prowlers end season on winning note

The Fort Stockton volleyball team finished their season in style and with their second district win of the season in hand on Oct. 26, defeating Pecos on the Eagles home court 3-1.

Panthers win first district outing in double OT

With the game on the line in double overtime on a fourth-and-eight, Fort Stockton didn’t hesitate to go away from their strong suit – their ever reliable running game. The Panthers had over 2,500 yards rushing and 27 scores on the ground heading into Friday’s contest against Lake View – numbers that are over three times greater than Fort Stockton’s passing statistics.

For the first time in their high school cross country careers, Fort Stockton sophomore Ali Jackson and junior Fabian Perez qualified for the state cross country meet.

The duo showed tremendous improvement from a season ago to accomplish the feat on Oct. 25 at the 4A Region 1 Championship at Mae Simmons Park in Lubbock.
