Merced Castro Lopez, 89, of Fort Stockton, Texas, entered into eternal life on Jan. 22, 2022.

Viewing was held on Jan. 25, 2022, at Heritage Funeral Home of the Big Bend, followed by a rosary.

Funeral Mass was celebrated at St. Josephs Catholic Church on Jan. 26, 2022. Burial followed at Fort Stockton Catholic Cemetery.

Charles Onmon Claburn, Sr., affectionately known as “Charlie ,”went to be with the Lord on Jan. 16, 2022. He was born on July 27, 1934, to Minnie Beatrice Denny Claburn and Joe Ollie Claburn.

James Allan “Jimmy” Childs, Sr.

On Jan. 22, 2022, Jimmy Childs, loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and husband, passed away at the age of 86.

James Allan Childs, Sr., was born on Nov. 13, 1936, in San Angelo, Texas. His parents were Olen Glen Childs and Mary Cleo Caldwell Hicks.

On Feb. 14, 1958, he married Joyce Maxine Dunnam. They raised three sons, James Allan Childs, Jr., David Glen Childs, and Thomas Steele Childs.

Gregoria "Goya" Ramos Cordero, 96, was made whole again as she entered into Glory, and went to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Jan. 20, 2022.

She was born in Fort Stockton, Texas, to Refugio Ramos and Ester Ramirez Ramos on May 25, 1925. She was the third of nine children, seven of whom preceded her in death.

Dorothy Richardson went to join the Lord and countless family and friends in Heaven on Jan. 12, 2022. She was born in Washington, Iowa, on April 3, 1935, the oldest of four, raised with her sister Janice and brothers Frank and Don.

Body

Maria Carmelita Ramirez, 72, of Fort Stockton, Texas, passed away Jan. 8, 2022. Carmelita was born in Hale Center, Texas, to Alfredo Martinez, Sr., and Martha Baldera Martinez. Carmelita went on to marry her loving husband Antonio Tony” Ramirez on Feb. 21, 1980, and they lived a wonderful life together for 42 years until her passing.

Juan Manuel “Johnny” Cordero

Body

Juan Manuel Johnny” Cordero, 71, went to be with our Lord Jesus Christ on Jan. 12, 2022. Johnny was born to Jose Maria (Joe) Cordero, Jr. and Gregoria Ramos Cordero on Oct. 2, 1950.

He attended school in Fort Stockton, Texas, and received his bachelors degree from Midland College.

Steven Jay McCollum

Body

Steven Jay McCollum passed away on Jan. 5, 2022 in San Angelo, Texas. Steve was born on Sept. 3, 1953, in San Angelo, to Gladys and Rufus McCollum. He grew up in San Angelo, attending and graduating from Central High School, then Angelo State University.

Steve held multiple careers that included working for M.L. Leddy's in Fort Worth, and various salesman positions in San Angelo for GTE and most recently Coverlay.

Ruben A. Montoya was reunited with his Heavenly Father on Jan. 9, 2022. Ruben was born Oct. 21, 1947, in Manuel Benavidez Chihuahua, Mexico, to Eleodoro and Alejandra Alarcon Montoya.

He was raised and educated in Mexico before coming to Coyanosa, Texas. He worked as a farm hand on numerous farms in the Coyanosa area. He worked 10 years for Braden Farms. He retired in 2012.

Larry Eugene Elvick

Body

Larry Eugene Elvick, 77, of Fort Stockton, Texas, took his eternal flight on Jan. 5, 2022, in Odessa, Texas.

Viewing and visitation was held on Jan. 7, 2022, at Eternity Funeral Home in Fort Stockton.

A Life Celebration was held on Jan. 8, 2022, at Eternity Funeral Home Chapel with John McIntyre officiating. Burial followed at East Hill Cemetery. Arrangements were under Eternity Funeral Home.
