Pecos County Rejects Proposed Border Wall
Body
The Pecos County Commissioners Court on Monday formally declared its opposition to the proposed construction of a physical border wall in the Big Bend region, citing potential devastating impacts to the area’s tourism- dependent economy and natural landscape. The resolution, approved during a regular session at the Pecos County Courthouse, expresses “deep concern” regarding federal plans to build wall segments near the Rio Grande, Big Bend Ranch State Park, and Big Bend National Park.
