Pecos County Primary Results Set Stage for May Runoffs and November General Election Local officials have released unofficial results from the March 3, 2026, Primary Election, revealing that two Republican races will require a runoff this spring. While several candidates secured their party’s nomination or will move directly to the November General Election ballot, the positions of County Judge and County Clerk remain undecided.

Fort Stockton Community Theatre Triumphs at TEXFest

The Fort Stockton Community Theatre (FSCT) is riding a wave of success following a stellar showing at the Theatre Network of Texas’ (TNT) TEXFest. On Friday, March 13, the local troupe traveled to the Globe Theatre to perform James McLure’s acclaimed one-act play, Laundry and Bourbon, and returned home with some of the competition’s most prestigious honors.

Launch of Meadows Research Institute

For three days in February, Alpine became the center of one of the most consequential water conversations in Texas. More than 350 landowners, scientists, groundwater conservation district leaders, legislators, judges, nonprofit partners and community members gathered at Sul Ross State University for Water in the Desert 2026 — the first major event hosted by the newly launched Meadows Research Institute for West Texas Water.
