The quick action of the Fort Stockton Police Department and Pecos County Sheriff’s Department resulted in the apprehension of a man who reportedly broke into Wholesale Liquors early on the morning of Nov. 6.

The state of Texas passed 13 of the 14 constitutional amendments on the ballot in Tuesday’s statewide general election. Proposition 13, which increased the mandatory retirement age for state judges, failed statewide, with 62.58% voting no. The proposition failed 602396 in Pecos County.

Gene Cummins Park set to close for upgrades

The city’s Economic Development Board has made notice that the Gene Cummins Park will be closed in 30 to 60 days for some much-needed upgrades, repairs and additions that are expected to take up to 30 days to complete. The focus of these improvements is on safety and conservation, and the timing of the closure is designed to have minimum impact on park patrons.
