The Big Bend Open Road Race (BBORR) is geared up for drivers and fans alike. The streets will be humming from the horsepower from April 24 through April 27. This is the best road race around, with 59 miles each way for a 118-mile course.

In cooperation with Apache, Keep Historic Fort Stockton Beautiful hosted their annual Trash Off day April 13. Don’t Mess with Texas annual Trash Off Day is the largest single one-day event in the state, this is the signature event for the Great American Clean up, the nation’s largest community involvement program. This year Apache kindly donated trees to the residents of Fort Stockton.

Fort Stockton Special Olympics team finds success at Area 18 track meet

The Fort Stockton Special Olympics team had an impressive showing at the recent Area 18 Midland Spring Games Track Meet held Saturday April 13. According to Chel Duarte, head of the Fort Stockton delegation, the team brought home 22 medals for their 10 participants.

Fort Stockton Film Society to screen The Adventures of Robin Hood

The Fort Stockton Film Society will host a free screening of the Warner Brothers classic film, The Adventures of Robin Hood, at 7 p.m. on April 13. The screening is family-friendly, with free popcorn and free admission, courtesy of Carisma Car Wash, so bring your entire family for a Saturday night at the movies.

Summer Ag Academy for high school teachers to be June 9-21 in Bryan

The Texas A&M Department of Agricultural Leadership, Education and Communications will host the annual Summer Ag Academy for high school agriculture teachers on June 9-21 at the Agriculture and Workforce Education Center on the Texas A&M-RELLIS campus, 1244 7th St., Bryan. The event will feature 15 interactive workshops for teachers to learn the latest skills, technology and innovations in agriculture and other industries.
