Faith Column: Follow Me

Body
Once upon a time I was part of a youth ministry, and when it came time of Lent season, a church invited us to be part of their Maundy Thursday. I of course never heard of it, so I wanted the tweens to know about it and learn together.

It’s time to mourn the mornings

Body
With the onset of daylight saving time throughout the U.S. – except for a couple of states that still trust the science – we’ve now reached the time of year that is especially challenging for folks like me who don’t identify as “morning people.”

Canary in the Coal Mine

Body
Comanche Springs is the canary in the coal mine for our community. Just as canaries in coal mines warned of threats to human health, the springs warn us of threats to environmental health.

Easter season on horizon

Body
Luke 24, “But on the first day of the week, at early dawn, they came to the tomb, taking the spices that they had prepared. 2 They found the stone rolled away from the tomb, 3 but when they went in, they did not find the body. [a] 4 While they were perplexed about this, suddenly two men in dazzling clothes stood beside them. 5 The women [b] were terrified and bowed their faces to the ground, but the men [c] said to them, “Why do you look for the living among the dead? He is not here but has risen.”

On St. Patrick’s Day, the best Irish baseball players

Body
In honor of St. Patrick’s Day, I set out to determine the bestever Irish baseball players. The task was more challenging than I imagined, but also more rewarding. Reviewing the Irish baseball greats and their stellar diamond accomplishments was a welcome diversion from the troubled world around us.

Love and support from community

Body
Behold, how good and pleasant it is when brothers dwell in unity! It is like the precious oil on the head, running down on the beard, on the beard of Aaron, running down on the collar of his robes! It is like the dew of Hermon, which falls on the mountains of Zion! For there the LORD has commanded the blessing, life forevermore.
